THE BENEFITS OF CBD

What are the benefits of cannabidiol? How does the body benefit from using this cannabinoid?

WHAT IS CANNABIDIOL?

In the global scenario of Cannabis, the use of CBD is becoming increasingly popular, the non-psychoactive cannabinoid with countless therapeutic properties, used for the treatment of diseases such as:

♦ Post-traumatic stress disorder.

♦ Depression

♦ Chronic pain of neurological origin

♦ Nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy

On the site of Cannamed it is possible to consult a complete list of pathologies for which the intake of this cannabinoid is indicated.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most interesting natural substances for the treatment of many chronic health disorders, especially those that primarily involve the immune and gastrointestinal nervous systems.

It is released naturally in conditions of pleasure, and not only, specific receptors are present in the cells of various tissues, and stimulates the immune system by modulating its complex functions. It improves sleep and increases relaxation, promotes digestion and assimilation of nutrients, helps forget, and the overcoming of physical and psychological traumas.

CBD is the main component of cannabis sativa with a therapeutic effect, as already demonstrated and then written in 2013 by the British Journal of Clinical Parmacology: the main benefits are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anxiolytic, antipanic, antiemetic (reduces nausea and vomiting), antipsychotic, anticonvulsant. It is a natural analgesic, it reduces chronic neuropathic pain.

In neoplasms, CBD has been shown to induce tumor cells into apoptosis (a form of programmed and selective cell death), and to have antiproliferative effects on the tumor cells themselves. The even more striking effects are in the ability to improve digestive and absorption functions.

It also decreases the incidence of diabetes and insulin resistance (study on nearly 5,000 men and women in 2013, American Journal of Medicine). CBD reduces the inflammatory state in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, counteracts acne and decreases psoriasis.

Protects from neurodegenerative diseases. CBD has been found to prevent the toxic effects of the neurotransmitter glutamate and radical oxygen species (ROS) in the brain, thereby preventing brain cell death.

CBD has also been shown to have greater antioxidant activity than vitamin C (ascorbic acid) or vitamin E (α-tocopherol).

Another positive thing is that it does not have many side effects: mild dry mouth and lowering of pressure, transient fatigue, a sense of lightness of the head, worsening of some forms of asthma.
